Salim - Thai Dessert. That sweet moment in the family when you got to mingle around with your siblings just like the Salim threads, mingling in a bowl!

Description:
It is one of the most popular traditional Thai desserts. Using Mung Bean flour, Salim is delicately made in the form of threads, which normally comes in multicolour. The fresh cooked Salim thread is transparent, soft and smooth, served with sweetened coconut milk over crushed ice. It is so refreshing as it trickles down your throat!

Recipe:
Ingredients: For Salim Threads
100gm mung bean flour
550gm water
1 drop of food colouring - of each colour

Ingredients: For Coconut Syrup
500gm coconut milk
350gm sugar

Step 1: Prepare Salim Threads
1) Mix the mung bean flour, water and food colouring together.
2) Heat in a pan. Keep stirring the flour constantly until it is cooked and turned transparent.
3) Pour the cooked flour mixture into the 'Salim Press' and start pressing the dough into a bowl of cold water.
4) Strain the Salim threads before serving.

Step 2: Prepare Coconut Syrup
1) In a pan, mix coconut milk and sugar together and stir over low heat until the sugar melt.
2) Remove from the heat and allow to cool.
